Bio

Erik Neimeijer is a Dutch rock 'n roll musician and painter of huge colorful paintings. His vibrant pictures of gambling men, planes, bulls, musicians, cars, lovers and tropicals scenes have a Caribbean vibe and and a loose but very recognizable style. Somewhere between Walt Disney and Diego Rivera he creates a dynamic, lovable and sturdy new world.

Erik Neimeijer (1982) was  educated as a Social Psychologist and plays guitar and sings in the non-stop touring Dutch rockband Bökkers. In the summer of 2017 he had his first art-exhibition and started painting and showing his art at a incredible pace at several Dutch and Dutch-Caribean galleries in the same non-stop manner he plays his music. A 25-paintings solo-exhibition opened at the 27th of July at the Herman Brood Museum in the Netherlands in 2019. In the fall of 2019 his paintings were exhibited in DAC Concepts Gallery in Greece and at Red Dot Miami, during Miami Art Basel in Florida.

During the first months of 2020 all galleries and exhibitions are closed. An online auction at the Dutch Herman Brood Museum resulted in good sales and press. In Holland the Sunny Side Art shop was opened, and his works will be exhibited at the Sonia Monti Galery in Paris, FOLD Gallery London, MONAT Gallery Madrid and the Agora Gallery in New York City in 2021.

In 2022 Erik and his wife Maartje opened the Erik Neimeijer Gallery in Nijverdal, Holland
